The celebration of the centenary of Dunedin Railway Station during Labour Weekend 2006 was a great railway festival. Organised by the Taieri Gorge Railway and Dunedin City Council, it was the largest gathering of steam and diesel locomotives in New Zealand at any one time since Ferrymead 125 that was held in Christchurch during Labour Weekend 1988.
Three steam-hauled excursions travelled from the North Island, along with trains from all over the South Island.
If you are a rail fan, this new release is a must for your collection.
History in the making in 2006, it will be a long time before there will be so many steam trains gathered again in one place in New Zealand.
