New ZealandReplacement motor for Frateschi DC loco
My father-in-law's Frateschi DC burnt out a motor, I checked what the can size and spec was and this turned out to be a direct replacement. Now fitted and works well. Straightforward but not complete beginner repair, because the old motor needs de-soldered out, the flywheels need taken off the old motor carefully (because they drive the universal joint drive shafts) and transferred to the new motor. Sharing in case anyone else has the same challenge!
